I'm Alive 06:48
Welcome me home, a stone now, as you lower me with chain (Watching life go as it flashes) Said prayers for me so I didn’t go down to eternal flame (Ashes to ashes) The pipes were calling out to me Just like it was always meant to be But what you fail to see Is life down here’s a luxury ‘Cause all the pain and jealousy Is everything I thought it’d be I’ve never felt this good before (Never wandered too far from the tree) Emotions rampant to explore (Always been a slave of love and Christianity) Don’t say an Ave, I’ve already arrived So don’t you fear, let’s just be clear I may be dead to you, but baby I’m alive Caught up inside; these walls they say bury me in red (Blood of my enemies) A change of sheets; a break from those lies we built in bed (All built up for centuries) My body primed up for decay Will rise as strong from Hell’s domain My eyes turned fifty shades Of glass as sharp as razor blades My heart inside; a barricade Protected from your masquerade I’ve never felt this good before (Never wandered too far from the tree) Emotions rampant to explore (Always been a slave of love and Christianity) Don’t say an Ave, I’ve already arrived So don’t you fear, let’s just be clear I may be dead to you, but baby I’m alive Wouldn’t it just be disappointing? God rejected his anointing On a son he called by name Some daddy issues, what a shame I’ll take this cross they offered me And raise it for them all to see This throw-away society Has given up all hope on me Keep your prayers at home I’m alright My weakness traps me from life on the other side Freedom from this prison just a confession away But my skin it longs for warmth that puts my sins out on display So break the chains and shackles that have Trapped you unto me Don’t make yourself believe in fairy Tales of love and Optimistic fantasy I’ve never felt this good before (Never wandered too far from the tree) Emotions rampant to explore (Always been a slave of love and Christianity) Don’t say an Ave, I’ve already arrived So don’t you fear, let’s just be clear Mistakes in life rewarded here I’d wipe away that burning tear I may be dead to you, but baby I’m alive

Waves 04:38
What is the sake? Trying to make Notions keep gripping when none of them take Motions in haste How does it taste? Tempers keep flaring when love goes to waste Craving a shout Moments of doubt What ever happened to working things out? Taking the flak Never go back Kings never win with the ace in the stack Line in the sand Gotta keep living the life that you planned (Don’t let it beat you) Broken you stand Do you just fold ‘em or leave cash in hand? (Don’t let it reach you) All these thoughts in my brain Comin’ in just like waves They all say There’s no way But wait, just try to save Every time there’s a change It’s like an animal caged Being tamed Call it names It’s coming in like Waves Follow the heart Never depart Memories kept me from fearing the dark Up in my head Nothing goes dead Starving thoughts linger but I keep them fed Pile of shit Get over it Vacancy sign’s almost never been lit You gave your trust Turned it to lust Soak it all down and then let it combust Promises made Crocodile tears on the cards that you played (Don’t let her beat you) Lie in the shade Basking in roses; in water you Wade (Don’t let it drown you) All these thoughts in my brain Comin’ in just like waves They all say There’s no way But wait, just try to save Every time there’s a change It’s like an animal caged Being tamed Call it names It’s coming in like Waves keep rolling across the sand Erasing the line from where we began Can we differ between right and from wrong? Will you just pretend that we never belonged? The men on my shoulders both say to forget You don’t have a reason for twice getting bit Afraid you will choke when you swallow your pride? Or think my love goes in and out with the tide?

The Patriot 05:30
So don’t delay, build barricade And raise it one by one I’d like to introduce you To seduce you all in spite Smash your face and trash the place Till nothin’ seems just right We’ll make the fuckers pay for What they say about our Withered way of life Drink it all, ignore the call Of father’s gone before Fight to the death ‘till nothing’s left Monopolize the war Ain’t nothing gonna stop us Call the cops we’re gonna Run this shit tonight Don’t you dare pretend to care if The sun will rise again The power dons are marching on They’re signaling the end Stick your brick into the wall And raise it one by one Upon the hill, the quartet’s thrill Is waiting for your kid to draw a gun In the streets the bullets meet The patriot he sees A tattered flag that spreads a plague Of freedom and disease Through the day he fights Not for his rights but for a City on a hill His reputation fills the nation’s Hearts with vanity They rant and rave while digging graves For men who died at sea They riot then they’re quiet When they see they set the switch from stun to kill Don’t you dare pretend to care if Their sun will rise again Weapons armed and marching on They wish to see the end Shoot your 21 salutes And raise ‘em one by one Over the hill, your country’s thrill Is waiting for your kid to draw a gun Church bells ring the choirs sing For martyrs of peace While down the road a crowd explodes Accusing the police Stand there pointing fingers Conflict lingers and it never dissipates The patriot keeps fighting it Temptations deep inside Golden bars and battle scars are Never rectified That city on a hill now writes his will while Trepidation fills the states No cross to bear; no longer cares if The sun will rise again The power dons keep marching on They say we’re near the end For far beyond your precious God Is waiting for your kid to drop the gun

Amplified 04:37
So this is how You wanted things to be Make tons of brass to kick the ass Of an enemy you can’t see Turn a blinded eye To domestic quandary Fill deficits with counterfeits But say “Land of the Free” So turn your guns to your own side Barrels make them petrified Justice’s suicide (Amplified) With your hands against the wall Keep it up, don’t let it fall It’s your bow; your curtain call How the fuck can you stand there Promising your life, your love, your liberty To a man who built his foundation On hate, harm, and heresy? They’ll arrive with lives Paid upon delivery Nothing left but give them death Instead of liberty Then accuse the news For the pictures that they show But their story hides the gory details No one wants to know So turn your guns to your own side Barrels make them petrified Justice’s suicide (Amplified) With your hands against the wall Keep it up, don’t let it fall It’s your bow; your curtain call Fortify your walls to fight an Enemy you can’t see Sounds like a great idea devised by the man Whose demise will be the uprising of the century; Man against man The young against the old Left and right wings broken and tossed out the window that we look out as the revolution spins out of control

All the Same 05:21
I make the Prince of Darkness feel like a king My temptations keep him wondering I’m not his puppet, no, I hold the strings While he condemns eternal underlings Hate the blistering Wait I’m listening Fate is mine to bring Man keep groveling Kneel before the flame Feel the Devil’s Dame Steal my pleasure’s fame Use it all the same I use remorse to resurrect your past My lips exhume transgressions you’ve amassed My fingers drip from water for which you ask But not enough to make your body last Hate the blistering Wait I’m listening Fate is mine to bring Man keep groveling Kneel before the flame Feel the Devil’s Dame Steal my pleasure’s fame Use it all the same I get off on the sins that God can’t see ‘Cause what gets done in the dark gets done to me Touch the wound that bleeds Clutch to skin that needs Much to keep it freed Make you beg and plead Kneel before the flame Feel the Devil’s Dame Steal my pleasure’s fame Use it all the same Use it all the same

A little boy he understands That bended knees and folded hands A signal in the dark, his faithful patriarch And in his eyes there is a light That keeps his master’s spirit bright The innocence of youth, keeps facts away from view I want to see you in the Face of my enemies (face of my enemies) Give me a reason to think you Know what is best for me (while there’s no rest for me) Why’d you abandon me With not a word to say? Throw me into the fire but Don’t let me burn away Don’t make me march the hill I’ve crawled a hundred times Don’t nail me to a cross For sins I’ve already been tried Crucified That little boy is on his own Been bitten by what’s been unknown Can’t help but feel regret, for things he can’t forget He moves his heart from sleeve to chest Unguarded only when undressed Can’t help but think about, the three men he kicked out I want to see you in the Face of my enemies (face of my enemies) Give me a reason to think you Know what is best for me (while there’s no rest for me) Why’d you abandon me With not a word to say? Throw me into the fire but Don’t let me burn away Don’t make me march the hill I’ve crawled a hundred times Don’t nail me to a cross For sins I’ve already been tried Crucified I lie here lost conflicted With my free will constricted As I march convicted Drag it along until I can lift it Why’d you abandon me With not a word to say? Throw me into the fire but Don’t let me burn away Don’t make me march the hill I’ve crawled a hundred times Don’t nail me to a cross For sins I’ve already been tried Crucified

Free 08:04
All around the world tonight Hearts heavy with guilt but full of contrite A city we built with passion and light Will crumble face to the floor Humble souls outside will talk With tenderness around the clock While wiser men will try to lock Regrets behind the door But climbing with the sun Is better said than done When heroes overrun Deceived by everyone He lets the queen escape With hopes his plans take shape But snares will always take The covenants men make When the thunder rolls And your Earth gets cold Hell better freeze the day when I can say “I told you so” But if the rains attack Then baby I’ll be back The best things life can give we can’t relive And won’t always last But before I break Before I agree Please initial here I’m not doing it all again for free Cry wolf again, and from the east Where filth and fault has never ceased The broken man now turned to beast Rides heavy with his drums He knows that only yesterdays Can trap him in this fiery blaze And so consumed in loathing he stays Until the calling comes But climbing with the sun Is better said than done When heroes overrun Deceived by everyone Once more the queen escapes With hopes her plans take shape Excuses always make The covenants turn fake When the thunder rolls And your Earth gets cold Hell better freeze the day when I can say “I told you so” But if the rains attack Then baby I’ll be back The best things life can give we can’t relive And won’t always last But before I break Before I agree Please initial here I’m not doing it all again for free I won’t wait to ignite You won’t be my kryptonite I’ll trudge through cold and the heat Until my plot is complete My shining armor dispelled My horses all burned in Hell I’ll revive the lives down I laid but I won’t step down until I’ve been repaid

about

This is not something you normally find in metal, but Andrew Summers is not the average metal musician. Andrew began his musical journey like most artists, whether they went on to headline arenas or make great underground releases. He started by playing guitar in his bedroom and with friends in garage bands. His love for the guitar and metal in general started when he was young and was introduced to hard rock bands like Kiss, Cheap Trick, Mötley Crüe, and AC/DC. However, his introduction to thrash metal at 14, specifically Metallica and Megadeth, solidified his love of heaviness, speed, and attitude. Combine this with Summers’ other top influence, 2000s metal stalwarts Avenged Sevenfold, and then we approach why he is the musician’s musician. Along with his love of thrashy tempos and attitude, came a love of melody, technical proficiency, and sound.
Andrew followed his passion for sound and enrolled in Michigan Technological University’s Sound Design program with a minor in Music Composition. Here, he honed his talents and made huge impacts as a conductor of the Huskies Pep Band, the leader of his cover band, The Four Horsemen, and a respected audio engineer at the university. While doing all this, Andrew recorded his debut album, Blacklisted. A meticulously produced and engineered album of blistering tempos, keen melodies, metal attitude, and old-school guitar carnage. Far from the mid-1980s reverb-heavy and mid-scooped production of early thrash albums, Andrew’s debut is a professionally produced record that bludgeons as well as it cuts and stomps as well as it whips up whirlwinds of guitars.
If you want to hear some of the best modern-produced metal that has respect for old-school sounds, Andrew Summers is your best friend. Careful though, his album doesn’t like you. It will punch you in the teeth. He hopes you like that sort of thing.
